An open letter to my best friend, whom I never had. It never ceases to amaze me how quickly things change. Like a never-ending stream of relatively cold running water. It’s as though the tides are changing, bringing a new soul. I met you for the first time at school. 

I adore you and know that even though our time together has been limited, you are important to me. If not in person, at least in some ways, I’ll always be here for you to converse, listen, and write. 

I do not, however, regret meeting you, but there are moments when I wish I had left things at hello and walked away.
