Dear Jane,
I read your letter. I know what it feels like to need help, and I know what it feels like to be depressed. This might not help you very much, but I might as well try. Jane, there is only one of you. As long as our infinite universe exists there will only be one person with the same thoughts hopes and dreams that you have. We are special.
Did you know there’s a one in three trillion chance of us being born as we are? Isn’t that lovely? This beautiful universe will only experience you once. You might not feel valuable, but you are!! There is literally no one like you. And the one thing that has kept me alive for the past three years is this: things will get better.
Sometimes it will feel like an empty promise, and sometimes you might lose hope. And remember, this is the only life you’ll ever have, so live!!! Don’t be scared to work on yourself, set goals, celebrate the little stupid things most people don’t celebrate, and keep in mind your pain might be immobilizing at times but it is making you more powerful all the same.
I know how it feels to be at war with yourself, and the tranquility that comes with peace is unrivaled. I wish you the best my darling, you’re stronger than you’ll ever know.
